I just want to give a big shout out to Pearl and Serene for publishing this book. I have looked st every recipe in this book and according to my personal preterence bost look very tasty to me. First, let’s talk about the plan. The plan is simply explained in the first three chapter to where someone that does not have the plan book could get on board and follow this way of eating. I would like to share some of the recipes I have made thus far. I have made the Pay Off Day Brownies... WOW! They taste like REAL brownies! The texture is just like a real brownie too. I made my topping with walnuts and it was fabulous! Next I made Egg Roll In a Bowl deuce. I really enjoyed the way they change it up vs the Trim Healthy Mama book. Egg Roll in a Bowl has been a go to recipe for quite sometime for me. I made Hubby Lovin’ Chicken and yes the hubby approved (he is not “on plan”). Also, a new low carb bread!!! I have found that these recipes are more family friendly. There are family friendly recipes in the Trim Healthy Mama book too. Trim Healthy Table actually has my family wanting to eat all the foods I have made thus far. In closing I need to say I have been on plan almost one year. In this year I have cheated 2x and ate a very small slither of birthday cake at two separate parties. I have lost 60-70 pounds and have went from a 16/18 bottom to a 4/6. I have went from a 1X top to a small top. This plan seriously blows me away! JUMP IN NOW!!!!

I've been doing THM since January of this year (2017 - so about 9 months as of this writing) and have lost close to 70 lbs. I'm 30 years old, 5'5" and hope to get to 135 lbs (the weight I was in high school/early college), so I have a long way to go (after I had a baby around Thanksgiving I was at 285, now 219 lbs) but this is truly the only plan that I believe I can do long-term. Even doing it for 9 months is really amazing, because I've tried every diet and "plan" I've ever come across - count calories, don't eat more than 1200 per day; 17-day diet, South Beach, Atkins, etc. They all helped me lose weight for the time I could stick to them - and any diet will do that - but I could never stay with them for more than a few weeks. So then of course comes the regain (plus some extra!) and the vicious cycle begins again. I've never had any health issues with my weight but I can certainly say I feel much better being down almost 70 lbs. I don't feel so slothful, sluggish and lazy. It really is true that when you're eating crap and overweight, you just want to lay around and not do much. Motivation is really absent. But with each 20 lbs I lost I felt more energy, felt better just moving my body more, and felt better about how I looked, too.I love food. I just love good, tasty food. That's clearly been a huge problem for me. I grew up in the North but I wish I was from the South, I somehow got a Southern soul - give me some good old fashioned corn bread, butter, mashed potatoes, sour cream, mac n' cheese, fried green tomatoes, pecan pie, beignets, fried chicken, sweet tea... yum. I like a good salad (with lots of crunchy croutons! ha) but beyond that I'm not intrinsically drawn to healthy foods. That said, THM is the one plan that I don't feel deprived or starving on.The THM book and other cookbook are good, but THIS book is by far the best. I love it. There hasn't been anything I've made so far that I haven't liked - Wonderful White Blender Bread = best thing I can think of if you can't have good ol' white bread. It's a really close second and I have loved me some BLTs on this bread. Deconstructed Stuffed Peppers = delicious. My husband (who, of course, is 6'1" and 165 lbs, eats whatever he wants and will never gain an ounce) has also liked all of these meals - and he is totally "white bread" - picky and likes pizza, chips, wings, All-American fare. The chicken spaghetti was awesome. Yum. My kids liked it too. The fuel pull peanut butter muffins with chocolate sauce are such a yummy treat and how awesome to know it's not laden with carbs or fat or calories. I also made the Save My Sanity Chili and it is so scrumptious. Everyone loved it.I honestly haven't used my old cookbook at all since I got this one...I'm sure I'll go back for certain things but I'd say this one is much better. One thing I would mention - if you're new to this - you can't go into thinking that these recipes are going to taste EXACTLY like all the sugar-laden, carb-loaded junk we love (I would say this especially about the desserts and other items that would normally have mashed potatoes, lasagna noodles, regular noodles, etc.). For example, as I mentioned, the Wonderful White Blender Bread is great, and I've loved being able to have BLTs or cheese and tomato sandwiches on it. BUT - it is not white bread from the grocery store. It's not going to taste just like that and if you're expecting it you will be disappointed. If you go into it knowing that these are healthified versions of all that, you'll be glad to see they are a nice 2nd place. Mashed cauliflower doesn't taste exactly like mashed potatoes, and it will never be as good to me, but it is something I can get on board with and enjoy as a 1st runner up. A lot of the casseroles that would normally include noodles (especially the lazy lasagnas, etc.) are not like real lasagna. And they never will be, because zucchini noodles or layers of spinach, etc. are not lasagna noodles no matter how hard you try to pretend (huge disappointment). BUT. It's ok. The Not-Naughty Noodles are really pretty good and not as noticeable of a change in some recipes (i.e. chicken spaghetti). I also made the Secret Silk Pie (from the other THM cookbook) and of course my husband expected it to taste like Perkins' French Silk Pie. It didn't, and it never could. BUT, it was a good way for me to get that yummy taste of chocolatey, whipped cream and pie crust in a healthier version. Sure, I'd rather have Perkins, but I'd also rather live beyond 45 and not be a beached whale my whole life. And that's where the weighing of your options comes in - I want my health and my body in better shape more than I want In N Out Burger (although I will have In N Out with no bun the next time I'm in the vicinity of a restaurant!). So if you have the right expectations, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. That was way longer than I intended. Sorry. I hope y'all will enjoy it!

What can I say - it's a healthy eating book, lol. I have tried THM before and have a hard time staying on plan. I bought this as an accident (I was buying several items, including this, as Christmas gifts, tried to cancel one item, and the item I tried to cancel wasn't canceled but this one was somehow doubled). No freaking clue. Anyway, I decided to keep this for myself and am now trying to get back on plan. This book is a bit less preachy than their other (first book) and I like the format better. It also tells you which recipes don't call for any special ingredients (i.e. ingredients that you don't find at any normal grocery store), which is really nice. THM eating can be quite expensive with all of the special ingredients (that they now offer for sale on their site and Amazon, of course . . . But are still pricey). I like the concept but it can be a bit of work and take quite a bit of prep and planning for those of us not lucky enough to be stay-at-home mom's. I've said for awhile now that if I win the lottery, I would definitely hire a personal cook well-versed in THM meals. That still stands. Hopefully their next book will be THM for the lazy, the overworked, and/or the sparetime-challenged.

If this book is anything like the previous cookbook, it is a gold mine! Mine arrived just last night and I am biting at the bit to try the recipes! I LOVE that this book contains *** "NSI" (No Special Ingredients) Recipes *** that any one can use and enjoy - without having to shell out extra cash for specialty items and supplies. This cookbook also contains a "Quick Start" guide for New Members/Users of THM - and it's even a good refresher for veteran users. So for new THMers, you could just start off buying this book and then later add the previous books as you want or are able. The previous cookbook requires more special ingredients than this one does -- so start with this one first if you are a first-timer. You'll be less frustrated.
